Procrastination 2007-01-02 It seems of late that cutting back on procrastination is, for me, a matter of cutting things down into smaller tasks. Exercise during the holiday season with a busy work schedule seemed impossible. Cutting it back to 30 minutes made it work. Cleaning the bathroom is a chore. Taking a 5 minute scrub at the sink before work is do-able. I hate wrapping presents. But if I tackle it one at a time, it gets done. Wrap one present; do something else. Repeat as needed. If I try to do it all at one, my back gets tired and I get cranky. Despite all doing these things slowly, a little bit at a time, more stuff is getting done. The only question I have now is, why it took me half a lifetime to figure this out? |
