Stepmonster moment 2004-08-04 I had a wonderful stepmonster moment with my stepson today. Spouse bought nectarines and peaches yesterday at Trader Joe's. Stepson had dinner with us last night. This morning when I came downstairs, one of the nectarines was gone. When I went out to the mailbox in our parking lot, there were the remains of a nectarine. Next to the spot where stepson had parked last night. Even I can add that one up. And math was never my fort. This evening, which is game night, as soon as the other guys were out of the room, I leaned over and whispered that I would appreciate it if he didn't leave fruit pits out in the parking lot. The expression on his face was priceless. He had no clue how I knew it was him. But if you had all the pieces, it could only add up one way. I'm just observant, but I think I'll let him go on thinking I can read his mind. |
