Solstice�

So I woke up at 2:30 this morning. Yuck. But it's been very warm, with the Santa Ana winds scrubbing the sky clean and the moon was full so I went outside to sit for a while. It was beautiful out. The wind was warm. I was comfortable wearing shorts. The moon was incredibly bright. I'm so used to seeing the sky through a layer of smog.

I'm driving to work now just after dawn and home just before sunset. The golden hour. I hate to waste it driving, but I'd rather be driving through it than missing it altogether. It's best when I can be in the yard. All of the greens in the garden are practically incandescent. It makes my eyes happy. I enjoy that time of day even while driving, but I'd so much rather be home. I have so little daylight time outdoors now, I'm getting so I can't wait for the solstice when the days starting getting longer again.

OK, so in avoidance of work, I've been looking for a solar calendar so I can find out exactly when the solstice is and I found this site. Neat! And downloadable, too!
