Rewarded Generosity�

So, I'm finding more butterfly eggs than I am caterpillars these days. I found two yesterday afternoon and haven't seen a larva in a couple of weeks. That may be on account of the large nest that the wasps are building on the beam that the vine winds itself around. I want to get rid of it, it's just above my chair, but I'm unwilling to poison them. I tried spraying water; that's worked pretty well in the past, but these guys are determined to build right where they are. Maybe I'll try stronger water pressure.

I've released three butterflies in the last seven days. I always wonder if any of the ones I see in the yard are the ones I raised. I'm sure that they occassionally must be, but I still think 'Is that one of mine?'

Spouse got me more memory for my Pocket PC for my birthday. Man was that an easy upgrade. Plug it in and go. Now I have room for books and music. Have to see if I can find some e-books to download. And music! There were free downloads on Amazon the last time I went looking for new music to buy.

On another front entirely, the place where I get my morning diet coke has a contest running. There are little stickers on things and you peel them off to see what you've won, usually some sort of food item. I won't eat any of their food except their french fries so I was going to throw them away. Then I remembered one of my co-workers had asked me to take him there one day when he didn't have a car. So I gave them to him, for which he expressed exuberant gratitude. I got another one this morning, so I stuck it into the interoffice mail. He got it this afternoon and while I was on the phone he left me a voice mail message; his brand new song, composed on the spot, 'You're my best friend.' Seems like generosity that costs nothing is pretty well compensated.
