Passive Recycling 2001-07-18 I really like the idea of recycling. However, Im exceptionally lazy. That and I saved up our aluminum cans for about a month, took them to the recycling machine, spent twenty minutes stuffing cans into the machine, got two dollars and forty-eight cents, and fingers I wanted to wash with formaldehyde. Totally not worth the effort. And my neighborhood doesnt have a recycling trash system. I still hate throwing the cans and bottles away, though. So I came up with another method. Passive recycling. I collect the bottles, cans, etc., and put them out on the curb the day before trash day. Somebody invariably picks them up within a couple of hours. Someone I am sure needs the money a whole lot more than I do, be it kids, some homeless person, or the people next door. I get to increase the size of the landfill just a little bit less. A win-win situation. |
