'Tis the season�

Oh joy. It�s hairball season. The pleasures of owning cats, one of whom is a gigantic furball. I�ve taken to brushing them, just to try to minimize the barfage.

I don�t think they�ve quite decided whether they like it or not. The best time to brush them is when they�re napping, and while they kind of enjoy the brushing, it interrupts their 8-hour nap. Better annoyed cats than hairballs, though. Once I found one in one of my shoes. Exactly the way you just imagined it.

It�s been in the 100�s for the past few days. It makes me feel odd, well, odder anyway. I feel sort of displaced in time somehow. Like I lost the two months that were supposed to be Spring.

It�s windy and the wind feels like I�m standing outside the mouth of a kiln going at full blast. At least it cools down at night. Sleeping sweaty is not my idea of fun.
